I appreciate you informing me of this. What you’ve posted on your blog is amazing. You wrote a blog post that was both educational and entertaining. coreball
Your blog has been one of my favorites for years and being from northeastern Ohio, I feel we are neighbors. Keep up the good work and thank you for brightening each day with your posts. I love your recipes and your kids are just the sweetest and cutest. Carry on !!!
Don’t let people’s negativity bring you down. I love your blog, just as it is🙂 Keep it up!
Thank you for your awesome recipe blog! It’s been my favorite since the first day I found it many years ago.
No one has to be all things to all people. People can release their own statements. What you do is wonderful and beyond generous. Thank you for being you
I am a long-time follower and infrequent commenter. Your recipes are some of my family’s favorites. Copycat Kristy Kreme Doughnuts have been on repeat during these weeks of self-quarantine. No matter what you do or say, you are never going to make everyone happy. You will continue to post what feels right for you and your business.
I am thinking of your platform. On Feedly alone, you have 16K followers. Imagine the visibility that you could give to a black food blogger simply by linking one of their recipes in your Weekend Dish posts… “I made this (hyperlinked recipe) this week and everyone loved it.” Even if only a small percentage of your readers clicked through, it could make a large difference for their page views.
It is possible to be an ally without making a statement at all.
I look to my favorite cooking and baking blogs for distraction from the every day stress we are all experiencing now. Thank you Michelle for staying true to your values and beliefs, while giving us a beautiful site to visit. Personally, I do not want to go looking for recipes and be either spoken down to or educated on how I should be feeling, thinking. Your blog is one of my favorites, please don’t change. It’s obvious from your posts how caring and kind you are. Looking forward to many more delicious recipes from you as well as the beautiful stories and pictures you share of your family.
I will join the chorus that says, I LOVE your blog. During the Quarantine, I relied on your Friday posts to know what day it was. ;) Keep up the good work and yummy recipes! I hope that your blog grows exponentially as a quiet relief from the chaos!
Just wanted to let you know, yours is the only blog I actually read all of the content and actually look forward to reading. Love your recipes, have tried quite a few with excellent results. I need to actually start posting my reviews. ☺️
For what it’s worth, I enjoy coming to a cooking site that’s about cooking. Nice to have a break from all the horrors and politics. I didn’t see any of the comments, but No one should attack you for continuing Your job and what you always do; talk about food. And I love the pepperoni squares 😉
Sending you positive thoughts. Have to learn to tune out the negative and focus on the positive. When I was little, I would ask my mother what she prayed for. She would reply, “patience”. As I grew up, her words always stuck with me. That’s what I pray for………God, give me patience to make it through this day. Thanks for your wonderful blog.
Michelle, Thank you for what you do! I have been reading your blog consistently for years for the FOOD and your fun outlook on life. You do a great job in making me happy whenever I read your posts. It makes me very sad to hear about the negativity. Just know that you are appreciated!
Michelle,
I just wanted to take a minute and tell you how sorry I am people are such jerks. I love your blog, and have followed it for years. Our world is scary right now but you are not to blame :( I am always happy to come here.
Amy
So sorry for the hateful comments you have received. It is so easy for cowards to hide behind their keyboards to spew their hate! I have always enjoyed reading your blog and making your recipes!
Thank you for your continued focus on your blogs purpose. I have enjoyed coming to your site and finding what I am looking for. Sad that people have been mean and caused you to need to make a statement. You will continue to be a favorite site !
Just as many others have posted, I’ve been following your blog for years now and find it light, refreshing and enjoyable. I come to your blog for easy, light and good recipes for every day dishes. It’s the first blog I review on Monday mornings and most morning actually. Some of your recipes I have made but I also enjoy your commentary, your Friday Things, your Weekend dish, your love of dogs and watching your family grow. I applaud you for keeping true to yourself and your blog.
Thanks for the positive energy you share every day.
I’ve enjoyed your blog for years. I’ve made so many great recipes and look forward to your Friday posts every week. I was shocked to read that you’ve received nasty comments. Here of all places. I’ve been especially grateful for your blog these past several months full of stressful times. Stay true to yourself and know that the vast majority of your readers appreciate you.
Love your blog!
Thank you. Thank you for staying on point and keeping to what your blog is and should be all about. I wish more people would do the same.
I’ve been following your Food Blog for more than 8 plus years, and have enjoyed every recipe, every photo, every family story behind it all, and your furry family updates too! I rarely post much more than a “Yum” or “Delish” or “Thanks, must try it” usually because I’m a busy educational Tutor for High School Continuation students. However, this time, in this contentious climate, I am moved to send you a “Virtual Hug” because standing steadfast against political bullies & nasty people is hard! This is NOT the forum for that type of argument and your choice is to keep your Blog out of the mud-slinging. I agree with Toni, who said that your Blog is an escape and a refuge from the outside nastiness in our world. I, too, find that your spirit leads your Blog with nothing but LOVE, food camaraderie and great suggestions for family living—no negativity or politics need be here! Our Democracy affords you your own blogging choice and you’ve chosen the path of positivity and LOVE! Bravo for keeping the world’s negativity from throwing shade on your work of LOVE and family support! Your example (through your Blog), has been totally “leading with LOVE” and I applaud that approach for there is no room for violence. Islanders call it “living ALOHA” and it is their legacy. I’m proud to be of this legacy and will continue to follow your Blog, your recipes, your suggestions and your love of family, for it is ALL uplifting and a great legacy even to your own children watching you! Keep your eyes towards the Sunlight, for it moves you forward in life, and the shadows & shade of the world will languish behind. All of the negative Nancies can just keep scrolling on by!!! Sending Love & all my Aloha to you and your beautiful family. =)
Well said. I cant get enough of all the wonderful support posts for Michelle. I could read them all day. So refreshing to read in contrast to the hate…and yes, bullying. I’m so over bullies. They are not the strong ones. Cowards is more like it.
I also love all things Hawaii😊 so you had me at aloha🌺
I am so happy to see all of the posts of support for Michelle and her family. So glad for the strength of these gracious people to still speak up in support of you.
My sister and I have followed your blog for years…Before Joseph was born. This is and always has been my favorite.
It takes much more strength to say little and be gentle and humble. Power restrained. I am trying myself to say less these days and pray more…
But I didnt want to waste my opportunity to tell you that we in So Cal support you.
