See your familyโฆ.just sit outside far apart. Life is too short.
**sigh** Actively social distancing from your family is a hard and loving practice that families are taking together to protect themselves and the well-being of the rest of people in society including you and your family member. ย Be well.
Michelle, Iโm not trying to be controversial whatsoever, but I SO encourage you to hug your parents. ย Allow them and your children to hug each other. ย Go into their house for a visit. ย Have them into yours. ย This is your family. ย My mother-in-law is in a senior independent living facility which is a very different circumstance than your parents still living in their house, but it makes it so much easier for you to touch them and love on them. ย The residents where my MIL lives are not allowed visitors and they are not permitted to have family members pick them up for any reason including their medical appts. ย We havenโt seen her since February, which is a long time particularly considering we saw her weekly. ย My kids havenโt seen their grandma. ย She is 89 years old. ย Who know how much longer she may have to live. ย She is missing us terribly and we are missing her. ย Yes, we talk to her daily on the phone. ย But itโs not the same. ย Others whose parents are in this same boat are saying the exact same thing. ย Social distancing from oneโs family is a travesty. ย The precious times and memories that we are missing. ย The family history that isnโt being passed on just by virtue of being together. ย Weโre all missing so much that we take for granted and donโt even realize is happening.
