Friday Things #551

1. Happy Friday, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are enjoying the start of the Christmas season. We had a wonderful break with the kids home; so excited for an extra-long one in a few weeks!
2. Did you get snow this week where you live? We got less than an inch, so Iโm hoping at some point weโll get more, as it feels like we barely got any last year!
3. These pictures are fabulous! >> 19 Charming Winners from the Dog Photography Awards
4. Weโve started on our advent calendar puzzle this week and the kids are loving doing a little bit of it each day (makes a big puzzle feel so manageable!); I also ordered this puzzle to tackle the week after Christmas :)
5. Really like this reflection for the end of each day >> Two Questions to Ask Yourself Each Day
6. What is on your holiday baking list this year? I shared a huge Christmas baking list earlier this week, and Iโm still thinking about what my first bake will beโฆ maybe orange cookies or chocolate crinkle cookies.
7. From a recent James Clear newsletter:
โYou can lose yourself one small compromise at a time.
You can transform yourself one small win at a time.โ
8. I saw someone on Instagram mention that they pick one cookbook a month to try 2 to 4 new recipes from, and I love this idea! If you were to do it, what cookbook would you choose? I might try this after the holidays!
9. What have you been watching lately? We just finished up the last installment of Cobra Kai, weโre caught up on Yellowstone and Lioness, and we just started The Agencyโฆ all so good!
10. TGIF!ย I love when these two snuggle together โค๏ธ

The Molly baz cookbook is soooo good! โCook Thisโ is the nameย
Thatโs an interesting (although intimidating) idea about setting a goal to try a few new recipes from a cookbook each month. ย Iโve been reading the Does This Taste Funny? cookbook from Stephen Colbert and his wife, and also the Cookies and Cups Cookbook! ย Iโm also curious to check out that new cookbook by Martha Stewart โ Martha: The Cookbookโ100 Favorite Recipes, with Lessons and Stories from My Kitchen.
Melโs Kitchen Cafe Cookbook. Love the puzzle!
I agree: both your puzzle selections are beautiful! ย The cookies one is simply adorable, I love all the colors. ย And I think the idea of an Advent puzzle is so creative. ย Love that! ย We DO always do a New Yearโs puzzle over here now, to celebrate. ย :) ย Itโs a fun way to start the year!
I love the cookbook idea! I asked for one of Paul Hollywoodโs (Great British Baking Show) cookbooks for Christmas. I look forward to picking some fun things at random. I have a ton of other cookbooks still. It would be fun to pick from them.
Youโve GOT to watch โday of the jackalโ; itโs sooo good
We are also loving our new Advent puzzle! ย Thanks for the suggestion.ย
I enjoy some guilty pleasure of watching two to three hours of the Food Networks shows on Saturday morning. I almost always am inspired by one or more of the recipes that I then try out during the week. Keeps our meals from being the same old thing week after week. Of course, I have many BEB recipes that are my confident go toโs
Oh, this was an exceptionally great post filled with fun and interesting things besides the adorable pictures of cozy buddies. My sons gave me two cookbooks- one just meatballsโ250 different kinds! The other pizzas! We are having fun experimenting with both.
Happy weekend!
I love the Once Upon A Chef cookbooks. Everything I have made from them has been a success!
We are watching all of the shows you are and also Landman. ย We liked this a lot from episode one. ย Right up there with Yellowstone.ย
Thanks for your blog! ย Enjoy you sharing many aspects of your life. ย Your kids are pretty special little people!
