Friday Things #510

1. Remember last week when I said our house had been cycling through illnesses, and I was looking forward to turning the page on a new month? Haaaaaaa, joke was on meโฆ all of the kids ended up with strep between Thursday and Monday. It seems to be spreading like wildfire at school, gah! Maybe NOW we can be done with all the sickness?!
Isabelle had to miss a princess tea birthday party on Sunday, so she wore her dress around the house instead ๐
2. Itโs no secret that I love spending time at home, and while Dominic and Isabelle both prefer to go anywhere Iโm going and not miss out on anything, Joseph is definitely my homebody kid. A few weeks ago, on a Friday night, I was saying goodnight to him, and he said, โDo we have anything going on tomorrow?โ I said that actually we didnโt, and he shot his arms into the air and said, โyessssss!โ. I felt such a surge of kinship with him, ha! โค๏ธ
3. I started a new jigsaw puzzle (a 1,000 pieces butterfly puzzle from Buffalo Games that Iโve had for a few years and is no longer available โ this one is similar), but I am tempted to buy this 500-piece โLove in the Wildโ puzzle to do with the kids for Valentineโs Day!
4. Itโs been easily 15 years since Iโve watched an awards show, but I had to go back and watch multiple performances from this yearโs Grammys! The Luke Combs and Tracy Chapman โFast Carโ duet was utterly amazing, and Iโve mentioned that Billy Joel is probably my all-time favorite artist, so Iโve been loving his new single, and his Grammy performance was fantastic, as well.
5. I finished Beach Read this week and loved it! Iโve thoroughly enjoyed every Emily Henry book Iโve read so far. I just started Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow and am just a chapter in; I know it was popular, so excited to get further along!
6. And speaking of books, I JUST found out that Ina Garten is publishing a memoir later this year. CANNOT WAIT.

7. Who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl?! Iโd be happy to see either team win, but if choosing sides, Iโll pick the 49ers just since itโs been longer since theyโve won!
8. Speaking of the Super Bowl, be sure to check out my list of 72+ Super Bowl food ideas for alllll of the menu inspiration you need for Sunday!
9. Weโre currently watching Safe (Netflix) โ another fabulous Harlan Coben series. Thank you to a reader who recommended it a couple of weeks ago!
10. TGIF!ย Love these two best budsโฆ

I loved Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and it isnโt a type of book I usually like! Enjoy!
Sorry to hear that strep throat has hit your house. I hope everyone is feeling better.๐โค.
I am happy to hear that Ina Garten will have a memoir coming out. Canโt wait! I love her and Jeffrey. Enjoy your Super Bowl weekend. Donโt forget Puppy Bowl is on too!๐ถ๐พ
Oh my goodness, I love Billy Joel, thank you. Marge
Iโm ordering โTomorrowโฆโ because I LOVED โThe Storied Life of A. J. Fikryโ by the same author! We donโt follow football but Brock Purdy went to the same high school as our grandsons and graduated the year between them soโฆ Guess who we hope wins the Super Bowl!
I rarely comment but I always love your posts and have followed for a long time.
Oooh will have to check out that book, multiple people have mentioned it!
Iโm a total introvert & love being home with my favorite person โ ME!
Go CHIEFS!!
You should read the storied life of aj fikrey by the same author. Itโs so good!ย
Thank you for the recommendation!
Good for Joseph for wanting to stay home! Weโre home-bodies & like it too!
Also, you have the prettiest dogs & they look so gentle! Just wondered if the one dog was getting on in age as I heard their faces sort of turn lighter in color! Donโt know how true that is!
Aw thank you! And yes, their faces do lighten as they ageโฆ Duke is the older one โ he is 10, will be 11 in June. Judith is 7 (her birthday is the day before Dominicโs!).
We are sad she missed it too ๐ญ
Loooooove Isabelleโs dress. Thanks for sharing!!!๐ฅฐ
I love that format of puzzles (with multiple square pictures within the puzzle) โ hopped straight over to Amazon and ordered that one for Valentineโs Day too. ๐ Oh and THANK YOU for recommending โNo Offenceโ on BritBox in your previous Friday Things! My husband and I are now halfway through season 2 and are LOVING it!
Youโre welcome! So glad youโre enjoying it.
So sorry to hear about the Strep Storm, but yeah, to Isabelle for choosing to brighten up her day! She looks absolutely precious, like a real Princess l
Isabelle is so adorable in her dress! Love seeing the pictures of your children and sweet pups! An early Friday morning smile! Thank you!
My girl is also a homebody like me :) Thereโs nothing better than being at home
I totally relate to you and Joseph. I am such a homebody and would rather be home reading or cooking than our and about (to the great consternation of my husband!). The diet with Tracey Chapman and Luke Combs was incredible. Brought me back to 1989 when I was pregnant with my son and things were tough! Love your blog. Always positive and upbeat!
Seeing Tracy Chapman again and listening to the duet was amazing. Luke Combs clearly was in awe โฆas was the audience. I was in tears. And then there was Joni Mitchellโฆanother moment that brought tears to my eyes.
I am with you and Joseph. I love just being home and even did as a kid. There is something comforting about home that just wraps around me like a cozy blanket.
Your furry babies are gorgeousโฆsuch sweet faces.
