Friday Things #431
1. We took the kids to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix last weekend; the weather was cloudy and perfect the bulk of the time we were there (which was a welcome change from the 90+ degrees it has been pretty much every other year we go). We got to have Italian ice, Auntie Anneโs pretzels, and see some very cool old Indy cars.
2. It feels like just yesterday I was pushing shopping carts with a baby up top and two toddlers inside or in the โcarโ partโฆ now we have lots of big helpers. Itโs so crazy how fast those early years fly by!
3. Have you bought anything during the Nordstrom sale? I havenโt picked up anything yet, but still havenโt really looked to see whatโs there! Share your favorite finds if you have any!

7. I am not at all into celebrity gossip, but am admittedly totally captivated by the Ben Affleck/Jennifer Lopez rekindling. Maybe because it was such a huge thing when I WAS very into celebrity gossip in my early 20โs?!
8. I had somehow never seen dressage before as part of the equestrian events at the Olympics, and we caught a little bit last weekend. I was in total awe and the kids loved the โhorse dancingโ. It was so beautiful to watch!
9. Weโve been watching tons of Olympics here and Joseph calls a gold medal โthe golden medalโ and I think of Willy Wonka and the golden ticket every single time ๐ I love it.

I would love to see more more easy, cozy dinner recipes.
Itโs hard to believe fall is only a few months away! We like to have soups and casseroles in the fall, so any recipes on those categories would be nice. Weโre enjoying the Olympics as well, but weโre cheering on team ๐จ๐ฆ . ย Weโre so proud of all the athletes who had to continue training an extra year due to the pandemic. Your kids and dogs are very sweet, we appreciate you sharing them with us.ย
Re: #7โฆ I really wish that Jennifer Lopez would learn to be happy on her own for a while, without a man in her life. She jumps from one relationship to another with almost zero lapse between- heck, she MARRIED Marc the same year she and Ben broke off their engagement last time! And she was with Ben mere weeks after breaking her engagement with Alex. I donโt think sheโll ever be truly settled until she learns to be secure on her own. For someone who is so strong, wealthy, talented, etc., the fact that she canโt seem to exist without a man in her life is an issue, and not something she should want her daughter to learn.
Agree with all of this. Bad example to any females young or older. She bounces from one guy to the next all in front of her kids since theyโve been babies.
I would love more soups/stews/chowders because we can never have too many in this house. ย Itโs in the 90โs here but Iโm making your roasted corn poblano chowder for dinner which is one of our favorites . ย Also, do you have a good recipe for Chicken on the Beach? ย ย
