Friday Things #423

1. I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. It was cold and rainy here on Saturday and Sunday, but Monday was absolutely beautiful!
2. When Isabelle refers to Joseph and Dominic, she most often calls them โmy boysโ, which is basically the most adorable thing everโฆ โMommy, where are my boys?โโฆ โIโm going to go downstairs and play with my boysโ ๐
3. We had our very last OIT appointment this week where Joseph ate a full dose of pistachios without an issue. I was so nervous about this one because he failed a pistachio food challenge when he was 2.5 after just about 1/8th teaspoon of ground pistachios. I breathed a huge sigh of relief after this appointment! After 22 months of appointments every two weeks and daily dosing, he is now able to eat most anything he wants! We will continue the daily maintenance doses and heโll get bloodwork done in about 5 months to see how things look.
4. Dominic combing his hair after a shower is the best thing ever.

5. 100% accurate:
6. Itโs summer, which means ice cream sandwich cake should be on a steady rotation!
7. I picked up this cookbook a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE all of the formulas that you can use to mix and match basic recipes to suit your tastes. Highly recommend! >> How to Cook Without a Book
8. A great, quick read >> You Can Never Escape Yourself
9. I have been hopelessly Googling when Yellowstone season 4 is going to air, but it seems that they havenโt released a date yet. Definitely the most addicted Iโve gotten to a show in a long time!
10. TGIF! Duke and I had some serious snuggle time last night ๐

This weekend looks more promising. Yeah for Joseph!!! Iโm hoping to make your baklava with a mix of walnuts and pistachios this weekend. Love that picture with you and Isabelle rolling out dough. All the pics, Dominic and his hair :)
Itโs so fun watching you with your little ones, I miss those days, they go by so fast in hindsight.
Oh my goodnessโฆwhen did Dominic get so big. Just love Isabelleโs strength and sweet fierceness. Sheโs so strong. And of course tender hearted Joseph. Shows what lots of love can do for kids (and furry babies).โค
I canโt believe how grownup Isabelle seems. The kids are looking great and Iโm so glad that Josephโs doing so well on his โnutโ journey. Duke is looking wonderful as usual. Have a great weekend.
Your children are adorable!!! I read that Yellowstone starts up June 21. I canโt wait. Best to you and yours.
I so enjoy your newsletter, and especially look forward to Fridayโs edition. ย I have the original version of โHow to Cook Without a Bookโ. ย It revolutionized the way I cook. ย I should take a look at the new version to see if there are any new tidbits that I could incorporate in my daily cooking life.
Yellowstone is my fave as well, season 4 is June 20, 2021 !!
#5 ย My daughters are adults now, but I remember those days!
37 ย I have and like this edition of How To Cook Without A Book. ย I also have the first edition and itโs been a favorite since I bought it in 2000.. ย I gave copies to both of my daughters. ย Pam also had a weekly column in the old USA Weekend magazine. ย In both books and the magazine I particularly like the Quick Supper Soup recipe and the pureed soups. ย I like what she says in the introduction to the new edition: โGive someone a recipe, they eat a meal. Teach someone to cook, they eat for a lifetime.โ (With no disrespect to all of your wonderful recipes!). ย Iโm still a recipe driven cook, mostly so I donโt forget an ingredient, but Iโve also internalized many of those techniques.
