Friday Things
1. So, you know that big snowstorm we were supposed to get last Saturday? The one that caused us to postpone Josephโs birthday party to this weekend? We gotโฆ NOT A FLAKE OF SNOW. I wasโฆ not thrilled. But! We had a fun day at home, Joseph spent the day in his pajamas, he had a big cookie with a candle in it, and he got some fun new toys that he enjoyed playing with, so all was not lost :)
2. I love, love, love this picture my husband snapped of Dominic and I at the breakfast table, I just adore his sweet giggle.
3. Iโve learned that parenting a third child looks vastly different than parenting the first. Iโm much more relaxed and, sometimes, when your 9-month-old refuses the puffs and banana youโve given her and repeatedly lunges at your bowl of chiliโฆ well, you give her chili for lunch. Which totally reminds me of the 80โs movie, Mr. Mom, lol!ย (And no, there were no *ahem* awful repercussions.)
4. I cannot get on board with the short shirt trend. I just cannot. Give me shirts that come down to my hips all day, everyday.

5. Have you seen all the hubbub online about how people write the letter โxโ? Honestly, I um, didnโt realize there was more than one way? I guess I thought everyone wrote it the same way? HA! (Thatโs my type A talking.) For the record, Iโm a #7, and then I went and raided Josephโs book that teaches how to write letters to see how they illustrated it, aaaaaaaand itโs #7. So now I feel validated in my x-writing.
6. I am absolutely obsessed with the Instagram account Ainโt Too Proud To Meg โ she makes AMAZING cheese boards and dessert boards that I could just stare at all day long.
7. Loved this read >> 10 Morning Habits of Super Successful Women. Iโve been trying to do #1 (wake up early) this month and it feels SO GOOD when I can actually make it happen. Basically since Joseph was born, the kids have been my alarm clock. When wee little babes, they could wake up as early as 5:45am, but now everyone is on a pretty good schedule and they sleep until close to 7:00 most mornings. So, Iโve been setting my alarm for 6:00am so I can just get up and get myself dressed and ready before they wake up. Sometimes I snooze after the alarm goes off, but if I can actually do it (especially on mornings where we have somewhere to go โ school drop-off, a lesson, etc.) my entire mindset for the day is completely different. Iโm so much more relaxed and not frazzled in the least.
8. The AFC and NFC Championship games last Sunday were CRAZY! Who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl? Rams all the way here!
9. I saw that King Arthur Flour is now offering Baking Boxes โ sort of like a meal delivery service, but for dessert! It would be such a nice idea for someone who enjoys baking or has a New Yearโs resolution to bake more.

I legit buy maternity shirts sometimes (the ones without the elastic sides), just for the extra length. Like tank tops and stuff? So much better. I canโt deal with the short/cropped trend.

Your kids and dog are adorable! ย Iโm with you on how to print an โxโ. ย Who knew there were other ways! ย Thatโs how I was taught in school in the 50s. ย Judging from the snow visible through your window, itโs a good thing you didnโt get more. ย Weโve only had 2 significant snowfalls (about 6 inches)ย each time where I live (southern BC) and thatโs plenty for me as last yr was bad. ย Hoping spring will arrive early. ย I find it hard to believe anyone needs a baking boxโฆdoesnโt everyone have the basic ingredients in their cupboard๐? ย I love baking. ย Have a great weekend Michelle!

Iโm a #7 too! I had to think about it for a minute because I thought I might be a #8โฆbut Iโm a total #7.
Who knew there could ever be such chatter about printing the letter โXโ?! ย Who has that kind of time to waste? ย I guess people like me who took the time to even read it do :/ ย (only to discover I am #7).
KAFโs baking boxes are really nice. ย I bought myself their Boston Cream Cupcake Bake Box when they first came out because I wanted to try a couple of the ingredients they include in the box. ย It really is a nice idea, and actually are not too terribly pricey.
I heard the Budweiser Clydesdales are back for the Super Bowl commercials. ย Canโt wait to see that one! ย Iโve missed them the past few years. ย Go Rams!
I was given a King Arthur baking box for Christmas. The mini pumpkin cakes. I loved the idea so much, I recently gifted a bread baking box. I made the pumpkin cakes over the weekend. Not only were they delicious, but they also looked more professional than my normal bakes! Happy Weekend! Go Pats ๐
I saw the KAF boxes too and thought they made nice gifts. I am known for being a baker and it makes a gift fun and personal l I think

That snow storm that missed you clobbered OH with over 10 inches of snow and high winds. ย Hope the next weekโs frigid temps also miss you.
Sorry I canโt be enthusiastic for the Rams as I believe the game was stolen from the Saints. ย Where was the referee? Not enthusiastic for the Patriots who will probably win but I canโt wait for the Super Bowl parties and commercials.

Just have to tell you, Michelle, that I bought 3 baking boxes from King Arthur for Christmas presents, one for each of ย my granddaughters. They are wonderful. The girls love baking and these allowed them to bake whenever they want, not having to worry about having all the supplies on hand. And, of course, they taste great. The part one of the grands liked best was the piping bag and decorator tip; now she can pipe all the cup cakes she makes instead of just spreading frosting.
