Friday Things
1. Funny storyโฆ sometimes in the morning my husband watches a sports talk show on ESPN, Mike & Mike. This week, it was on and Joseph and I were playing in the family room and he looked upโฆ one of the hosts had his feet propped up on the coffee table they have on the setโฆ Joseph scowled and said, โFEET DOWN!โ It was hysterical! Weโve had to tell him countless times to get his feet off the table when weโre eating, and apparently it has sunken in, ha!
2. My husband and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary this week with a kid-free lunch date at a new-ish burger place, then shopping at Target (ha!). I got a chocolate milkshake to go after lunch and this thing was so enormous that I sipped it on the way home and through Target, then put it in the freezer. It took me two more nights to polish it off! Side note: I am now craving another chocolate milkshake.
3. I just recently started following The Small Things blog and I adore it. Iโm totally motivated to start putting (a little) more effort into my hair!

5. Apparently you can kayak through glacier rivers in Canadaโฆ it looks absolutely breathtaking, but you can only get there via helicopter and Iโm absolutely, positively petrified of ever riding in a helicopter.

9. I am so elated that Curb Your Enthusiasm is coming back in October! That show makes me belly laugh like only The Office has before; I find Larry David absolutely hysterical and canโt wait to watch new episodes!
10. TGIF! Next week will be four years since we brought Duke homeโฆ what a little furball he was!
Re pantrys: I love the big green one. So much room! We recently moved from a home with a huge pantry to one with a smaller one. I sure miss the other one! I wanted to share that Iโve always loved your Sunday dinner tradition. My husband and I recently began a similar tradition at our home in Texas. Both our grown-up children live close by so we started with an every other Sunday dinner. We had our second one this weekend and itโs going great. I make an entree and dessert and they fill in with side dishes, etc. Today was make your own sub sandwich, Pasta salad and your recipe for Red Velvet cupcakes. They were the hit of the get- together, so moist and yummy. Two weeks from today, Mexican!

Joseph is such a cutie. I hope youโre documenting his cute sayings. When I taught Kindergarten I kept a notebook of the things the kids said. Youโll enjoy reading it years from now.
I rarely purchase ice cream shakes or frosties, but I always bring some home & eat a little bit for several days. Savor the flavor!

Hi Martha, Yes! I do the same thing when I get a Frosty! Even the small lasts me 2-3 days. Love having a little treat in the freezer :)

I went helihiking for a week in BC in the Canadian Rockies 3 years ago. It was the most FANTASTIC trip ever!!! We stayed in a lodge only accessible by helicopter. I too am a little afraid of heights and was a little white knuckled on the initial trip up to the lodge but got used to it really quickly! Each day we went in the helicopter to a different location to hike. Our pilot and the rest of our group are all friends which made it even more special (and $ reasonable). If you can afford it and get the opportunity, do it! You won't regret it :)

I am 100% certain that if I had a daughter, she would be better at hair than me by the time she was like, 5. And probably better at makeup by the time she was 12!
Have you seen the movie A Dogโs Purpose yet? Itโs so sweet and beautiful. I cried happy and sad tears. As a dog lover, itโs a must see for you!

HelicoptersโฆI have been on a number of helicopter rides including in ย Switzerland, NZ and Australia when I lived there. ย I was offered the opportunity to go with several patients from the childrenโs hospital ย where I worked (a local news station offered kids rides when their traffic reporter went up). ย At one point, the pilot decided to do a surprise quick drop and I was the only one who screamedโฆthe reporter said afterward he almost laughed in the middle of his reportโฆvery embarrassing! ย Those pantries are amazing. ย I am about to move into a new house and was thrilled when I saw it had a pantry until I went the other day and the shelves were upโฆand itโs very tiny. ย Oh well, at least I have a pantry. ย Joseph is such a little character, isnโt heโฆwhere does his sense of humour come from? ย I think heโll be giving you laughs for years to come. ย Love the photo of baby Duke and of course Einstein in the background. ย Happy 4th anniversary!
That happened to me this week also but a week or 2 ago, I didnโt receive the email at all. ย Better twice than never! ย Must be a glitch in the system. ย I really look forward to Friday Things.
