Friday Things
1. My husband created a gif of Joseph dancing and itโs pretty much the best thing everโฆ

2. Now that Dominic is starting to move around more, Joseph has taken a little bit more interest in sitting next to him, whether it be on the couch or on the floor. One of his favorite things is when I sit Dominic on the couch, heโll get on and sit as close as he can to him, then have me do โthis little piggyโ to both of their toes over and over again. Those little giggles from both of them make my heart burst.
3. Have you seen this rolled ice cream served in a taco? Iโd love to devour one of those!
4. This is a really interesting read for those with young kids regarding dealing with strangers >> How the โTricky Peopleโ Concept Saved My Boys
5. So, a waffle bowl maker existsโฆ have you seen this? Of course my mind immediately went to ice cream, but then I saw fried chicken and thatโs just brilliant.

6. Did you see this video about a dad who, as a high school graduation present to his daughter, gave her a copy of โOh the Places Youโll Goโ by Dr. Seuss that was filled with notes from every teacher, coach, and principal she had from the time she was in kindergarten. Such a fantastic and thoughtful idea. Filing that away!
7. What are you watching on TV right now? The only current show weโre watching is The Americans (so good!), but we found an old BBC gem on Netflix โ Midsomer Murders. Itโs an old-fashioned whodunit show and I just adore the main character (the inspector), heโs so likable! If youโre between shows (or waiting for House of Cards at the end of the month like we are), give it a try!
8. Iโm fairly certain that the NHL playoffs age me prematurely. Every single year, I spend nights on the edge of my seat, heart throbbing, half afraid to look at the TV. BUT! My Pens advanced after a wild and crazy series, so the fun continuesโฆ
9. Wishing all of you momโs out there a very happy Motherโs Day this weekend. And on that note, my mom heart has been so heavy for Lindsay since she lost her sweet baby boy Afton at the beginning of the year, so a very special prayer to the momโs who have dealt with the worst loss imaginable. xo
10. TGIFโฆ I hope you get to bask in sunlight this weekend!

Some good recipes to try here, thank you. Midsomer Murders on PBS is good but then we found Doc Martin on PBS, Friday nights at 8pm eastern, my most favorite show, I never tire of it. When itโs over I sigh, ha! Thanks
Thank you for the article #4

I forwarded to my daughter, I canโt believe someone would do this, our babies and children are too precious.
I canโt believe how much your โboysโ have grown, they are lucky to have you for a Mom. Happy Motherโs Day.
Linda
My daughter is in third grade & I have been having her teachers sign โOh the Places Youโll Goโ since kindergarten. Im hoping I never forget, lol!
Love Midsomer Murders! ย Think Iโve watched all the first series with Tom Barnaby and most of the second when his cousin John takes over after he retires. ย I think episodes are still being filmed. ย As always Duke and the boys are adorable! ย Happy Motherโs Day.
That is the cutest GIF ever!!! Needs to go viral!ย
Check out Happy Valley in Netflix and Patriot on Amazonย
HAPPY MOTHERโS DAY, MICHELLE!!! Such blessings when looking into the eyes of your children; the joy and hope and infinite gratitude! Have the best day ever!
Also, thank you so much for remembering those in whom motherhood has eluded them, either through infertility, or through the loss of their little angels. Despite the pain, it is quietly welcomed to be remembered.ย
God bless!
Thank you so much Toni, and you are very welcome.
I love the Joseph gif, canโt belief how big heโs become, such a cutie! Midsomer Murders is such a great show, Iโve seen every single episode by nowโฆ I always watch them with my mum:-)
If you have HULU you might want to watch the Handmaids Tale. ย Itโs based on a book about a future dystopian society. ย Interesting concept. ย Definitely for adults.ย
Love seeing your boys every Friday. Hope you have a Happy Motherโs Day!
I am from the uk and have watched every single midsomer murder show, and the repeats! MY favourites programme!
Hope you have a wonderful Motherโs Day. Your boys are getting so big. Now that all the network shows are ending. I like watching the Father Brown and Miss Fishers Murder Mystery series on PBS. There are only a handful of summer shows that I watch. I usually use the summer to catch up on the shows I fell behind on. I have to admit I havenโt been watching the Stanley Cup playoffs. I sort of tuned it out after the shocking exit by the Blackhawks. Iโve been following it enough to know that the hated Predators are still in it. It nearly killed me to root for the Blues, now Iโm rooting for the Ducks.
Happy Motherโs Day โ the hardest but most rewarding job you could ever have. Pics of your boys (all 3 of them) bring me joy. Joseph is quite the chair dancer!! And I really love Dominicโs โwoofyโ hair.
Thank you so much!!
Iโve really been enjoying a PBS Masterpiece show called Home Fires. Itโs about a rural English village on the verge of WWll, and how they adjust to the chaos and uncertainty of war. So good! I also love Americansโฆhate the thought of it ending. ????
That sounds like a show weโd like, thanks for the recommendation!
That was a good read about the tricky people and kids. Thanks for sharing. I wanted to also pass something along. My kids are in TaeKwonDo, and as part of a self defense class, the instructor one time brought in a former criminal, now police officer and motivational speaker, to teach kids and parents how to stay safe. Like in that article, he said thereโs no reason to be polite to strangers if you feel uncomfortable, not one reason. But one thing stuck with me. If someone does try to kidnap a child, the child needs to be taught to lay down on the ground and go completely limp and act dead, NOT start screaming. He interviewed many criminals, and they all said kids who screamed were just viewed by people milling around them as throwing a tantrum and didnโt want to get involved, and it was actually easy. But, if there is a child laying motionless on the ground, everybody will gather around to help a child, scaring away the person. Anyway, I hate to be a downer on Motherโs Day weekend, but I just thought that was smart advice.
Thank you so much for sharing this, Holly! Such great advice and Iโm totally guilty of itโฆ when you hear a kid screaming in a store, I just feel empathy for the parents assuming itโs a tantrum, because weโve all been there.
The boys are so cute together and the gift of Joseph dancing is funny. Iโm kind of meh on tv right nowโฆI need to find something on Netflix to watch โ maybe that will help. Iโve been doing a lot of audio books โ weโve fallen in love with Schwanโs Passion Fruit sherbet โ as far as ice cream โ so that is what we are eating โ though we are just eating it in a bowl to cut back on calories โ sigh. Happy Motherโs Day to you and your mom!
Thank you so much, Maria!
My two eldest are 17.5 months apart in age. My husband rounds up to a year and a half, but I was the one carrying the babies, ha! Seeing your boys remind me of my girls. They were always playmates throughout their childhoods. They remain close today in their late teens. Bet your sons will be the same.
My eldest turns 19 (!) tomorrow. She is a HUGE Pens fan, and the second to last game just about killed her. She doesnโt know if she wants to watch tomorrowโs game as she may not be able to take the pressure on her birthday! I am going to be baking your recipe for the Boston Cream Pie for her cake.
Ditto on the appreciation for sharing Lindsayโs post. It is beautifully written.
Happy Motherโs Day, Michelle.
Oh that game 6 was AWFUL! Happy birthday to your daughter! I hope she loves the cake! And thank you :)
Thank you so much for sharing Lindsayโs incredible post. Her suggestions were simple and powerful and she is an inspiration. I really enjoy your Friday Things emails and you sharing posts like hers is one of the many reasons why. Happy Motherโs Day to you.ย
Thank you, Gea :)
Happy day to you and your family. ย May God bless you all. ย Have a wonderful Motherโs Day.????
You may also like watching Foyleโs War if you like Midsomer Murders! Detective Foyle is a mysterious, likable cop in England during WWII. We watched all 9 seasons this past winter and each show is about an hour and a half so it fills up the evening. Another similar show we just started is Father Brown. Just getting into it but it is about a priest who does detective work on the side. I gave up on the Americans last yearโjust got a little too โdarkโ for me. I started wondering who really lives next door!
Oh we loved Foyleโs War! We finished it right before we started watching Midsomer Murders. I really like how long all of these shows are โ theyโre like mini movies!
I love Midsomer Murders!!! Of course Iโm so far ahead that there are big changes that were hard to take at first but Iโm doing better with them.ย
Your boys are adorable (including fur baby). Iโm a Sharks fan, but was happy for you when the Penguins advanced. Congrats!ย
Thanks! Last yearโs final was a great series!
