Friday Things
1. Dominic turned 7 months old yesterday! He continues to grow like a weed and blow through Josephโs hand-me-down clothes like nobodyโs business. The boy is TALL! I feel like no sooner I get a new size out of the storage bin and hung in the closet, Iโm putting half of them away because heโs already outgrown them! Heโs still SO CLOSE to crawling and absolutely loves his big brother.
2. Joseph continues to be so fun and helpfulโฆ in fact, I think his very favorite thing is helping with something. A few days ago, we lost power for about 6 hours and Joseph tried to โfixโ the TV with his toy drill, then moved on to his screwdriver. Much to his dismay, it didnโt work, ha!
3. So today is Cinco de Mayo! Do you have any fun foods planned? Iโm thinking tacos for dinner, mmmmโฆ
4. There is a Golden Girls CAFE with all sorts of memorabilia from the showโฆ who knew?! I used to watch it almost every Saturday night at my grandmaโs and have such fun, fun memories of those nights. My sister, cousins, and I routinely slept over on the weekends; she would make Boboli pizzas and we could stay up late and watch Star Search, then eat Pop-Tarts for breakfastโฆ the best of days.
5. Love this story about bringing kittens to a senior facility, which gives the residents a sense of purpose. Makes my heart happy.

6. And this, THIS breaks my heart >> There is a cuddling program in place at a major hospital here in Pittsburgh because so many babies are being born addicted to heroin and go through withdrawal. Those poor babies, but God bless the volunteersโฆ they have so many that there is a waiting list.
7. Could this baby goat be any more adorable?!
8. Can we talk about how FANTASTIC Blacklist has been? I was sort of not feeling it for the bulk of this season, but the last two or three episodes have been so crazy good. Finally seeing all of the backstory is great!
9. Iโve been watching the NHL playoffs and holding my breath every step of the way. The last couple of games were maddening and had my heart throbbing during the entire last period! Also, Iโm going to sleep too late, but boy, playoff hockey is the best!
10. TGIF! A throwback to two years agoโฆ my furry boysโฆ I miss them being a twosomeโฆ
I am so jealous that your local hospital has that cuddling program. I would LOOOOVE to be able to do that, but our hospitals donโt have that programโฆclosest one is an hour away :( I am a SAHM with both of my kids in school full-timeโฆI would love to be able to go cuddle babies and give them some extra loving. Also, your boys are getting so big & are just adorable!!!! I love your Friday posts & seeing your boys grow and change :)
Michelle, your link about comforting the opiate-addicted newborns really touched me. ย I am going to see if there are similar volunteer programs in my area hospitals. ย Like everywhere else, we have been affected by the opiate epidemic. ย I am in Southwest Florida (Fort Myers).
Aw thatโs fantastic Pam (well not about the epidemic, but the article touching you)โฆ my heart breaks thinking about those innocent souls born into the world with their bodies fighting addiction.

Believe it or not, I got to pet a 2-day old baby goat today at a local petting zoo. It was a near out-of-body experience. I recently started watching that show โToo Cuteโ (which happened to have a baby goat on an episode this week!!) and canโt stop smiling. Thatโs a good thing, right? Blessings on your week! :)

For Cinco de Mayo I thought of your Irish cupcakes with a few changes. Negro Modelo instead of Guinness, Kahlua instead of Baileyโs and tequila instead of Jamesonโs. Iโve not made these with the changes but no reason to think they wouldnโt turn out as yummy as the Irish ones.

Dominic and Joseph are just too cute! Great article on the baby cuddling โ it is very sad but sounds like it can be very rewarding too. No big plans for today โ will probably order Mexican in for dinner and maybe have a margaritaโฆ.lolโฆ.

I think this Pens vs Caps series is THE series of the post season. ย It has been incredible hockey. ย And Fleury!! ย WOW! ย Over the moon happy for him. ย I have always been & will always be a Fleury fan. ย The anticipation of Game 5 has me feeling like Christmas.
That picture of your pups . . . takes me right back to losing my Golden boy and feeling so heavy-hearted for you when you lost Einstein. ย While I just love my Golden girl and am so grateful to have her, I still greatly miss my buddy, who would have been turning 4 this month. ย How are ย you doing? ย Iโll be thinking about you today after seeing this picture of your two Goldens. ย
Itโs great hockey, but my goodness, itโs leaving me nervous every single night! Thank you so much for the sweet words about Einstein. Time has definitely helped to heal my broken heart, but I think of him every single day and miss him so much.
