Friday Things

1.ย I canโt believe that Dominic is already more than two weeks old! He has been such a wonderful baby thus far, with only a couple of fussy days to speak of (and which were a result of some tummy upset). I usually feed him right before we go to sleep and he wakes up twice during the night for feedings. He eats and snoozes most of the day, but has been wide awake and alert for an extended time in the morning, which is so much fun. Heโs already changing so much, and his big brother continues to be his biggest fan. My husband and I joked yesterday that Dominic has definitely become Josephโs favorite in the house. When itโs time for him to go to bed and he gives goodnight kisses, he goes straight to Dominic first, saying, โbrother!โ. He just wants to kiss him constantly and point to different body parts (nose, ear, knee) and then points to them on himself. He also tries to share his snacks with Dominic, even though we tell him he doesnโt have any teeth yet, ha!
Weโre still working on our new normal as a family of four, mostly because our routines are little upside down right now. I ended up needing a repeat c-section, so Iโm limited in terms of doing stairs and I canโt pick up Joseph, which means I canโt do nap time, bedtime or bath time with him, which Iโm missing so, so much. BUT! Weโre almost halfway to the 6-week mark to get my clearance!
2.ย Totally saving this recipe for homemade play dough! Not sure if Joseph would enjoy it yet or not, but a great idea!
3.ย I am fully ready for the holidays to roll around; this shirtย is spot-on about how I feel from mid-November until after New Yearโs.
4.ย Sooooโฆ Luke Perry was on the most recent cover of AARP magazine. Whaaaat?! Apparently he just turned 50? I feel so ridiculously old itโs not even funny.
5.ย Iโm loving these flexible silicone lidsโฆ they might go on my Christmas wish list!

6.ย Love this video of everything Harlow the special service dog can do.

8.ย Iโm always totally transfixed by meal prep photos on Instagram >> 5 Instagrammers to Follow If Youโre Trying to Get Better at Meal Prep.
9. Talk to me about web browsers. I have a MacBook Pro and an iPhone, so Iโve always used Safari, however recently it has seemed buggy on both my phone and laptop. I know SO.MANY.PEOPLE use Google Chrome, but truth be told, I love how my browser syncs between my devices and I hate to give that up. Is there a similar sync functionality with Chrome? What do you use if you have Apple devices?
10. TGIF! Bosom buddies :)

Thanks your sharing!
Always, always enjoy reading about you and your family! Thank you for sharing. :o) #3 and #7 made me crack upโฆ. Perfect!! Prayers for a smooth recovery, Michelle!
Dominic is soo cute. Your have two very handsome boys. I love your blogs with family up dates and recipes. Hope you are getting into the groove with new baby and family. Keep up the good work.
THIS BABY IS ADORABLE :) AND such a handsome big brother :) AND I am so excited to see you will be a featured baker on the king Arthur site = CONGRATS!
What a precious little guy! Oh so sorry you had to have another C-section. My daughter ended up having to have two C-sections too. Wishing you a fast recovery. I can imagine you wanting and missing those close/special times.
Love the picture of Joseph. Sounds like he is the best big brother ever!
Your kids are so cute!! =)
HI Michelle,
I hope you are feeling better with each passing day. Your post reads like you are in good spirits and enjoying your special moments with your precious little Dominic. His sweet little grin is priceless. It is wonderful that your two boys are so close in age. Just imagine a few years down the road when you are chasing two little balls of unbridled energy all over your house!!
Maybe they will enjoy some quiet time with that play dough recipe. When I taught kindergarten, I used it on a regular basis. My students loved it and it stood up well to numerous little hands. Around the Holidays, we would read many versions of the Gingerbread Man story and I would put theme related items in various play areas of the room. The house/kitchen area had a tub of this play dough that was tinted brown with cinnamon, ginger and spices so that the kids could โplayโ making cookies. It smelled amazing. I did have to remind the class it was not anything they should eatโฆalthough it was perfectly safe.
Enjoy your weekend snuggling in and watching football. My team is playing your teamโฆshould be a great game.
Joseph is soooooooo handsome!!!!!
wow, what a great big brother he has! beautiful family, keep up the multi asking! feel better.
Oh what a beautiful baby, Both of the boys and that big fur baby are all out of this world cute. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Happy life to you and yours.
Dominic looks like his brother! I bet they will be best of friends. I can imagine itโs difficult trying to recover from surgery and not being able to interact as much with Dominic. From everything youโve shared about your husband Iโm guessing heโs right there to help!
Kool aid play doh is my favorite recipe for that. YAS! Tropical punch!
Josephโs t-shirt sums up that picture pretty well . . . on both accounts :) And that is such a sweet little smile on Dominicโs face. I am with you on that shirt โ baking & Christmas movies. I am SO ready for โItโs a Wonderful Lifeโ, โWhite Christmasโ, โThe Holidayโ, and many others. You will love the silicone lids. I have a couple of the Charles Viancin lids and not only do they pretty up your bowls and baking dishes, they really do seal well. I am still using Safari as well. And since Iโm not having trouble with it, I just seem to stick with it.
Have a great weekend! What a great Pens come-from-behind win last night. We were there, and oh boy! So much fun!
Dominic and Joseph are so cute! Iโm sure things will get easier once you are off the restrictions due to the c-section. Take care of yourself and your family and donโt overwork yourself as the holidays begin to creep up on us.
Proud you are on the mend and have a little helper who is so cute and growing. It is great you had the time and felt like doing Friday Things.
Your post reads like everything is going as expected. Iโm so happy for you. You have such a handsome family. As I opened yor post this morning my doorman called up to tell me I had a package. It was those silicone covers! Saw them and had to have them. They make so much sense. Iโd suggest that you look on Amazon. Found them for a better price.
You have two adorable little boys!! I love reading your page!! Rest up now, feel better. The boys will have you running around like crazy soon!!
Your boys are gorgeous โ so sweet about their interaction. I hope youโll be back to your ole self soon. Now, as far as Safari goes I am completely disgusted. Ever since they updated it doesnโt work half the time โ Safari canโt find it or whatever. For half of my work I have to switch to Goggle Chrome and I donโt especially like it. Safari used to work like a charm :-( Hope Apple is listening to us. Have a wonderful weekend.
TWO c-sections?????? Yikes!! How miserable for youโฆโฆ.1 is bad enough!!!! I hope you heal quickly!!! Joseph is such a cutie and Dominic will look just like him :-). I am enjoying the photos!! Duke looks as handsome as ever.
I switched from Firefox to Chrome awhile ago and love it. It does sync between my devices which I love and itโs rather reliable.
What a beautiful baby! A repeat c-section, you poor thing. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Your two sweet, sweet boys! I love Friday Things!
I love Friday things, too โ but thatโs three sweet boys shown here! Donโt remember Joseph being that small โฆthough of course he must have been. Dominic is showing the same predisposition to smile, Im glad to see. Seems to be normal for this happy family.
Check out these silicone lids https://www.charlesviancin.com/us/product-line/airtight-lids/
Love the Charles Viancin lids as well! We use them to cover stuff while heating in the microwave to prevent splattering, on the stovetop as pot lids and as potholders for handling hot items. Kinda spendy tho cuz you end up wanting one in every design and size! The wine stoppers are amazing!!!!
I saw a set of two sizes together at Marshallโs for only $8 (knockoff brand and not as awesome a design) that would totally do the trick on a budget!
Chrome is awesome. Just sign in with your google account on all of your devices and it will sync your history & bookmarks.
I agree. I have a Mac laptop, an ipad and an iphone. We keep all our appointments for our insurance brokerage on a google chrome calendar and not only do they sync on my three devices but we can sync them to each other as well.
I like Firefox on my Apple products. Cannot speak to the syncing, though.
What a sweet picture! Hope your recovery is swift!
So sweet!
