Friday Things
1. Josephโs big thing lately is pointing to just about everything in sight and going โeh!โ like he wants to know what it is. So weโve spent a lot of time naming different objectsโฆ itโs so fun to see him so interested in everything around him.
2.ย Iโm currently 26 weeks along (going so fast!), and had my glucose test yesterday (bleh!), fingers crossed that I passed so I donโt need to do the three-hour test. Next on our list is shopping for nursery furniture!
3.ย This past week was bittersweet, as we celebrated my grandpapโs 90th birthday on Saturday, but right before leaving for the party, learned that my great aunt had passed away unexpectedly. We spent Monday and Tuesday saying goodbye to her; she was my grandmaโs sister, they lived in two sides of a duplex for their entire lives.ย I have so many amazing memories of sleepovers at my grandmaโs house growing up and spending time with both of them.
4. On a happier note, have you seen the No-Bake Treatsย cookbook thatโs coming out in July? I got a sneak peek and I literally want to make every single recipe in the book. A total must-buy for summer treats!
5. Did you know that the resort where the Dirty Dancingย movie was filmed still exists and it hosts Dirty Dancing-themed weekends?! I wonder if they have watermelon-carrying contests?!

6. Are you a Gilmore Girls fan? If so, youโll love that thereโs going to be a Gilmore Girls cookbook! Itโs called Eat Like a Gilmore and it comes out in October!
7.ย Have you seen this glass slide in LA? Would you do it? I absolutely would NOT do it, eek.
8.ย Oh my gosh, this video of a dog in a swimming pool full of other dogs just standing there, petrifiedโฆ I want to give him a huge hug!
9. My husband and I are off to see Billy Joel tonight!ย He gifted me with tickets for my birthday and Iโm super excitedโฆ this will be my third time seeing him (I saw him once solo and once with Elton John) and I just think he puts on a phenomenal show. Canโt wait!
10. TGIF! Duke is recovering from his birthday shenanigans yesterday :)
Sorry for your loss :( but I hope your glucose test went well. The Gilmore files cookbook will be fun. The link to the glass slide didnโt work for me, it took me to the cookbook again. However, itโs sounds so scary!

I live about an hour away from Mountain Lake. Iโve only been there once, but I do remember standing in the gazebo thatโs featured in one scene from the movie. There is a nice hike to a waterfall called the cascades in the area as well.
Have fun at Billy Joel. My SIL saw him about a month ago. My husband got to see him with Elton John, too (like you), and loved it. He bragged to his sister about how awesome it was to see the dueling pianos. LOL
We will be going to a concert this fall, sadly not Billy Joel, BUT we do get to see The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Who, Roger Waters, Paul McCartney, and Neil Young! I am so excited!

First, Joseph is adorable and getting so big! Second, Billy Joel, fun times! Third, baby furniture, have fun picking it out! Last, I am very, very sorry for your loss. It sounds like you have some truly great memories with her and your grandma. I almost forgot, Happy birthday to your grandpa! 90 years, to think of all the things he has seen in this world. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

Joseph changes so much in every weekโs picture โ heโs getting so big โ crossing my fingers that your test went well. Have fun at the Billy Joel concert tonight and picking out nursery furniture. Iโm so sorry about the loss of your great aunt โ it sounds like you had a wonderful childhood with your grandma and her sister and I know you will miss her. Itโs so hard watching our families age and losing loved ones.
That dog almost looks like heโs watching someone behind the camera holding a treat. Heโs so focused on one thing behind the camera. What a fun place! My dog wouldnโt like it, though, he would definitely be the socially awkward dog standing in the corner!

Love the Gilmore Girls and Iโm so excited about the upcoming new episodes that will be featured on Netflix. I read something hinting at a November airing date! The cookbook sounds entertainingโcould be pop-tarts and marshmallows thoughโฆ
Iโm honestly laughing so hard about this Gilmore cookbook. Theyโre known for eating poptarts and having coffee as their main food group! They donโt cook!! HAHA.
Iโm pretty sure I read that homemade pop-tarts are in the cookbook ;-)
#5 โ> We visited the resort for a long weekend about 2 years ago. It was a lot of fun. For the price, the meals were included in the stay and we liked our room. We played tennis and hiked the trails on the property โ which is very pretty.
I had stayed in the resort for work about 20 years ago. I could totally see myself in the movie. I would have loved to been around when all of those resorts were โthe thing to doโ for summer. Itโs a great experience.
