Friday Things
1.ย This little guy seems to grow by leaps and bounds every single day. Heโs big on repeating right now, so weโve taught him some animal soundsโฆ he loves snake โtssssssssโ, cow โmoooooโ and monkey โhoo hoo hooโ. He gets ridiculously excited every time he makes the noises, itโs so adorable :)
2.ย I keep seeing horror stories on Facebook about people with kids dealing with daylight savings time. Knock on wood, we havenโt really had any issues here. Joseph has been going to bed a little bit later, maybe a half hour? BUT, heโs sleeping at least a full hour later in the morningโฆ Iโll take it!
3.ย Are you yay or nay on rice cakes? Iโve always really liked them, and my grandma did too. I donโt even like the flavored varieties โ just the plain rice cakes! Sometimes Iโll spread peanut butter or Sunbutter on them, delish! I handed one to Joseph the other day for a snack and he nibbled away like a champ.
My mom accused me of feeding him tasteless cardboard ;-) ย She is firmly in the NAY camp!
4.ย I had my first recipe video made this past week! I kicked itย off with my momโs legendary Italian salad dressing:

7. Have you seen the video about Smiley, the blink therapy dog? Absolutely melts my heart.
8. Did you fill out a March Madness bracket? We do a league with my husbandโs friendโs family (just for fun), and Iโm hoping to do better than I did last yearโฆ I finished in last place. Womp womp :(

100% to the rice cakes!! Theyโre a staple in our pantry, but Iโve been eating them a TON during my pregnancy, especially at night when Iโm craving something sweetโฆ Lately, Iโve been loading them up with orange marmalade! PB&J is another fav. Loveeeeee them! Also, we are totally on the same wavelengths this weekโ Iโm putting my homemade Italian dressing into a video next weekend! Between that and the mint chocolate chip pie and the baby boys named Josephโฆ Itโs kinda weird! Haha.
Joseph is so adorable! Heโs really changing on an almost weekly basis!
The video for the dressing was good โ loved the little soundtrack with it. Will check out more on the food scene in Pittsburghโฆmy dad spent some time in Pittssburg when he was a teen but we havenโt been back in years โ need to revisit:)

I tried the Irish Soda bread on Thursday. So good and easy! A bit crumbly but definitely going to be a St. Pattys day tradition for us. Thx for sharing it!
I love rice cakes and peanut butter! Smiley is one of my favorites, what a sweet, special dog. Joseph is adorable, it does look like he grows bigger every week!
I think rice cakes are horrible, the taste like cardboard. Maybe peanut butter helps or cream cheese ?
I am sooo excited for the Ina book! My favorite part of Barefoot Contessa is when she feeds Jeffrey whatever sheโs made. :) Heโs always so happy.
Also a big fan of rice cakes. Canโt eat them without thinking of this bit though! :D

Joseph & the pups . . . buds for life! Congratulations on your first video! After watching it, my first thought was โI wonder if she does take out?โ That salad and dressing looked so good. Rice cakes are ok. I can take them or leave them so rarely purchase them. About the only thing I really like on them a tuna melt. That video of Smiley brought tears. Dogs adapt SO well to a disability. Iโll take a blind, eyeless Golden any day! My Golden girl has a deformed paw. She was born without bones in her two outer toes and her โmiddleโ toe is kind of long so it curves a little. But that doesnโt stop her from digging, fetching, running, etc. I wouldnโt trade her for anything.
Love rice cakes especially the caramel flavored ones! I think its a great snack for kids too!! Made your Shamrock Shake Cupcakes โฆ.. Total hit at work I put a surprise of lucky charms in the middle! Everyone thought it was a super cute idea, I got it from Betty Crocker :)
Joseph is adorable โ he seems to be fascinated by is cute toes :-) And I have to admit โ Iโm one of those persons who canโt stand rice cakes. I think they taste like styrofoam โ not that Iโve ever tasted it but thatโs what it reminds me of. I was on Weight Watchers a long, long time ago and that was one of their recommended snacks. YUCK! Just give me an apple or pear slice and a delicious piece of cheese or you can stick in their some prosciutto and cantaloupe. That is a snack!! But to each his own โ Iโm sure there are some things I enjoy other people would not even taste. Have a great weekend.
My husband puts Swiss cheese on plain rice cakes and melts the cheese in the microwave. He loves them and I hate the way they smell and taste!
Love all of your pictures of Joseph, but I give him a lot of credit for chowing down on those rice cakes, because Iโm in the same camp as your Mom, Michelle, and think that the darned things taste like cardboard :) :)
