1. Joseph is going to be six months old next weekendโฆ what?! Where did all of those minutes and hours and days go?? On the one hand itโs so exciting to see him grow and learn and develop a personality, but at the same time, I still wish I could go back and do it all over again.ย Iโm sure Iโll feel like this for the nextโฆ forever?
2.ย Now that Joseph is doing a lot more playing, Iโd love to hear your suggestions for good toys for 6-month oldsโฆ we have a few, but Iโd like to pick up a couple of new things to keep him interested.
3.ย Iโm not sure what itโs been like in your neck of the woods, but the weather in Pittsburgh has been absolutely wretched lately! Itโs been raining almost non-stop, although I donโt mind that we havenโt really had any days hotter than the mid-80โs.
4.ย Thank you all for the recommendations for a cross-body bagโฆ I ordered one from Timbuk2, and will definitely let you know how I like it!
5.ย This has to be the most comprehensive stain removal chart Iโve ever seenโฆ I bookmarked it immediately!

6.ย I havenโt had any caffeine since the month before I got pregnant with Joseph, which was a year and 4 months agoโฆ I have been doing fine without it, but lately Iโve been craving a huge fountain Diet Coke.
7.ย I love this list of 10 Houseplants That Clean Indoor Air โ Iย might need to add a few as we start decorating!
8. Have you watched any of Wimbledon? Itโs one of my favorite sporting events to watchโฆ the grass, the all-white, itโs awesome.
9. The rest of our TV watching is pretty sparse since itโs summerโฆ weโve picked back up with Tyrant, which is okay, and weโve been watching a lot of baseball games. We still need to watch Season 3 of House of Cards, although Iโm less than enthused since every single review Iโve heard has been mediocre at best.

First, they donโt NEED toys. So much of living is still entertaining at that age!
Second, giving up caffeine is great! Even better โ give up all diet drinks and foods !

Watch โHouse of Cardsโ season 3 ASAP! I had heard it was boring and ho-hum, too. I donโt know why people think that. I thought it was the best season! It definitely has a different dynamic, and may not be as โaction-packedโ, but it is great!

Itโs been raining a lot here in the northern NYC suburbs too. I havenโt had to water the tomatoes at all lately. Your boys are adorable.

i live in Pittsburgh, too. The weather is awful.
My kids loved play phones and play keys. We also have them the โthatโs not my..โ Books by Osborne. They loved them and would play with all the textures.
Have you watched the Net Flix series, Bloodline.

The language is rough, but if you can get past that itโs great! It takes place on Islamorada in the Florida Keys, so the scenery is beautiful. Season 1 has 13 episodes. I understand season 2 is in production. I highly recommend!
I enjoy reading your blog and seeing Josephโs updates, heโs really cute! My nine-month old son loves the Infantino Activity Triangle and the Little Tikes Play Cube. He started playing with them around 4 or 5 months, just hitting them to make noise and, as heโs grown, heโs been able to do more with them. He can spin some of it now and move some of the beads. I like that they are toys that he can grow with but theyโre not too big or expensive. (and Iโll admit, I like playing with them too sometimes!)

Joseph looks like such a happy baby. Whatever youโre doing, keep it up. Playtime with both parents is especially important.
Be very wary of houseplants. Check to see if they are poisonous to either human or animal. For instance, with Christmas 5 months away, poinsettias are very poisonous. Some of my favorite houseplants are also poisonous. So be sure to check each one out.

Thanks for the link to the houseplants, I do have 2 of them, but want more. The scary thing I saw though, is that many of these plants remove formaldehyde โ how do we get that in our air? Love the thought of the Gerbera Daisy will help you sleep, must get one of those!
He is adorable. Poor guy i can see his skin breakout, have you eliminated foods from him or your diet (in case you are still breastfeeding). Hope you figure it out, also use coconut butter.

My favorite toysa are Plan Toys โ http://plantoys.com/ โ All wood, non toxic, you donโt want plastic toys at this age since they put everything in their mouth. I really liked the plan toys gym.

I donโt sell these toys but I really liked them for my daughter growing up. One of the best things I did was have a party when she was young and bought multiple age level toys for her.

As she got older she loved marble works. And the boomerings work for so many things, kids love to play with them and if you have certain nobs they can be hooked on them. ;) The measure up cups is also another toy that can be used for multiple things/ages.

Baby Joseph is too adorable โ and is that a tooth I see? Thanks for the โstain removalโ list โ i usually just spray it with Spray n Wash and hope for the best. Itโs been raining here a lot too and Iโm going to check out the air cleaning plants too.
Yes, both of his bottom middle teeth cut about 4 weeks ago, and theyโve finally grown enough that you can see them clearly now!
I hear you on the Diet Coke . . . since mid-February Iโve not had anything processed (which includes sugar and itโs substitutes). Recently all I have wanted is a big Coke Zero with lots of ice . . . Joseph is so adorable; canโt you just squeeze him up & never put him down? From the looks of Dukeโs tail & paws, heโs recently been groomed (itโs hard to see Einsteinโs in the picture). I love it when my Golden girl is freshly groomed . . . pretty paws and oh! those tail feathers!! :D Have a great weekend โ Letโs Go Bucs!! Gotta catch the Redbirds :)

First of all, your son is beautiful! Secondly, I love all of your posts about Duke and Einstein because I too have a golden. Lastly, my daughter had our first grandchild who is 4 1/2 months old. I bought her the Einstein Baby Take Along Musical Toy (presently $6.63 at Amazon โ I had paid $7.89) and it plays classical music while lights are flashing. Avery absolutely loves it and is occupied for quite awhile listening to the music and watching the lights. It also is great for when she gets fussy because it quickly gets her attention. I am buying this toy for everyone who has a baby.
Unless youโve given up chocolate, you havenโt given up caffeine. A cup of semi-sweet chocolate morsels has as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. Milk chocolate contains less.
I know chocolate has caffeine but who ever eats a cup of chocolate morsels at any one time? I usually just grab a few if baking with them but that small amount of caffeine would be minimal.
True chocolate has some caffeine, but I usually donโt eat an entire cup of chocolate at one time ;-)

Keys were a favourite here, until one day with the DD threw them out of the pram and I was stuck lol!!
