Friday Things
1. Joseph seems to have mastered a new skill this weekโฆ rolling over onto his side/belly when he naps. The problem? He canโt figure out how to roll himself backย when heโs on his belly (even though he HAS rolled over before), and then flips out when he canโt get himself back over. So, it looks like weโre going to be upping the tummy time game during the day so he has more practice with rolling.
Also, he had absolutely no interest in his Wubbanub pacifiers until a couple of weeks ago, when he realized he could hold them. Now heโs a huge fan :)
2. Since Iโm not pregnant this year, I would LOVE a charred hot dog from the grill. Itโs the only way I like them!
3. I currently have a new pizza dough rising in the fridge and I canโt wait to see how we like it! Does anyone do pizza Fridays? I think we need to make this a tradition once Joseph is old enough to eat real food :)
4. I first heard about The Subtraction Projectย from Jen last year at some point, and I absolutely love it. Every few months, there are a week or monthโs worth of daily prompts to help you declutter and organize your life. I save the emails and when I have a small chunk of free time, Iโll tackle something easy. If you hate clutter or want to pare down your stuff, definitely sign up!
5. Have you watched any good movies lately? I donโt think weโve watched oneย since before Joseph was born, but now that weโve kind of got a bedtime routine down (most nights), we have a fewย free hours in the evening after he goes to bed.ย Lay your recommendations on me!

10. TGIF! Someoneโs 2nd birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks!
For a movie โMary and Maxโ, very dark humored and heavy subject matter animated movie about an unlikely pen friendship between an 8 year old girl and a 44 year old man who find out they actually share a lot in common with how they feel alienated by people, strikes a chord related to mental illness and how itโs handled in society also. I can think of no movie like it.
Golden State??? Oh no, go Cavs all the way! No team plays with more heart than they do. They deserve to win!
For a foodie I recommend these movies: Chef, The Hundred-Foot Journey and Bon Appetit Mr. President. Thoroughly enjoyed all of them!
Michelle: Look forward to the pics of your children, human and canine every week. That baby gets cuter and cuter, its fun to see the changes weekly. We have a golden too, Gunner (Gunny) and his best friend is our pitt bull, Peach. When they get to wrestling in the house, watch out, they are like a couple of cage wrestlers! She follows him everywhere. I think Iโm going to try your broccoli casserole recipe next for Monday nightโs dinner that you had in the best side dishes list. Weโre doing pizza Friday tonight with one of our friends! Weโre going out, but we just got engaged and have been watching our weight. Tonight, Iโm eating All. The Pizza.
I have not seen very many movies worth watching lately. We saw the latest Avengers movie, which was fairly recent. Iโm excited for Amy Shumerโs new movie with LeBron James. And speaking of the KING, I have loved the NBA Finals this year.
If you havenโt seen it yet, I definitely recommend โSt. Vincentโ. Bill Murray is unbelievably good, and Melissa McCarthy never disappoints. When we went I thought it was a comedy โ there are a lot of laughs, but it will make you cry too.
Dog is truly manโs best friend.
I just saw this recently but I think it is a couple of years old: Now You See It.
I had to watch it twice just to catch on to every thing but I loved it.
Those days of rolling while asleep are rough, but donโt last long! Now my son sleeps on his stomach/knees with his boots strught up in the air.
My little one is about ready to roll over. I am dreading it.
We love our Friday pizza nights! Itโs great because itโs the one night a week where I donโt have to come up with a dinner plan; we just know Friday means pizza! I have 2 kids โ ages 5 & 3 โ and weโve started occasionally making it a pizza and movie night. I use Joanne Changโs focaccia recipe from her Flour cookbook (I bought that book off your recommendation so thanks!) and it comes out perfectly everytime. Love your blog and your kids (human and canine) are adorable!
I just heard from a friend that Joanna Chang has a new book. I believe the title is Baking With Less Sugar. I checked it out on Amazon and the recipes look great. I have been to Flour Bakery on more than one occasion. The pecan rolls are heaven!

Baby Merlinโs Magic Sleep Suit! Seriously, this is the best baby product we bought (we ended up buying two!). Our son hated being swaddled, but rolled and startled so often. This was nice and cozy and kept him on his back for a little while longer. Once we started using it, our little buddy slept so soundlyโฆthat is, until he started rolling all over in it and grew out of it, but we used it for a solid 4-5 months.
GO CAVS!! ALL IN! LeBron and Delly will take us to the win even if it takes 6-7 games!
My son, Connor, did the same thing as Joseph with rolling onto his tummy in the night then couldnโt get rolled back over so heโd fuss and Iโd have to go in and turn him over. Well, one night, I had the monitor all the way down and when I woke up and happened to check on him, I saw him sleeping peacefully on his tummy. But I know he didnโt just resign himself to that position and I felt SOOOO bad for not being there to hear and help him. But you know what? After that, he was pretty much fine sleeping on his stomach and preferred it. It mayโve also coincided with him being better able to roll himself over so he was able to change positions when he wanted. Whatever it was, it made me feel much better about being such a neglectful mother. :)

Just watched โThe Love Punchโ. It was a fun romantic comedy that was enjoyed by the whole family!
Such an adorable child! I could eat him up! โThe Imitation Gameโ was indeed an excellent movie. โAmerican Sniperโ was too and so was โGood Kill.โ I was thoroughly surprised on all three that I liked them so much. Have a great weekend!

The last good movie that I saw was โThe Imitation Gameโ. We havenโt been watching a lot of movies, rather using Netflix to watch seasons of television programs. I also have a list of movies that Iโve never seen, but need to. China Town has been my favorite so far. Itโs pretty old, but the story line is excellent.
We do Pizza Fridays every other week. I use Eat Live Runโs recipe but will definitely try yours when it comes out.
Because Tampa eliminated Montreal, Iโm cheering for Chicago. Weโre not glued to it, but itโs great hockey.
