Friday Things
1. First and foremost, thank you all so very much for your patience while I sorted out and remedied the issues with the site. Everything should be running smoothly again at this point, so if you encounter any issues, please feel free to shoot me an email and let me know so that I can investigate. I am so sorry for the inconvenience any downtime may have caused.
2. Now, for the fun stuff! I didnโt realize it when I took the photo below, but Duke totally photobombed it and looks like he wants to eat Josephโs head, ha!
3. Joseph turned one month old last week, which seems absolutely unfathomable! I love that heโs become more alert and more aware of things around him. Heโs started to smile a little bit (we got some big open mouth smiles for the first time yesterday!), but we havenโt been able to catch them on camera yet.ย Each day is an adventureโฆ some messier than others(!)โฆ and I love every minute.

5. Confession #1: I realized earlier this week that Iโve never eaten quinoa. Confession #2: I have no desire to eat quinoa.

6. In other news, I am dying for a soft serve ice cream cone with sprinkles. I think all of the local places open back up sometimes in Marchโฆ Iโll be the first in line!

9. Itโs House of Cards release day!! Having a newborn is the perfect excuse to hibernate (especially when itโs freezing out), so you know what weโll be doing all weekend while Joseph naps! In other TV news, in some strange twist of fate, neither my husband nor I had ever watched the show 24 when it originally ran. A couple of weeks ago, we decided to start watching from the beginning and weโre totally hooked! Weโre a little more than halfway through the first season and loving it. Itโs great that there are so many seasonsโฆ itโll keep us entertained for awhile!
10. TGIF! I hope the weather is starting to warm up where you areโฆ Duke is working out his cabin fever!

Quinoa was on my โmust try/cookโ New Yearโs resolution list this yearโฆI tried it two weeks ago (in my rice cooker) and steamed veggies with itโฆmixed them up and I was amazed how good it tastedโฆnow I find myself looking for all kinds of recipies for it! Try it!!!

2. i grew up and still live in no calโฆworked at Swensonโs Ice Cream Parlor in high school and they were always โjimmiesโ not โsprinklesโ :)
3. quinoa is delish! pretty much even swap for rice. you must try it! i make it in my rice cooker. be sure to either rinse it before cooking or get the pre-rinsed kind.
How adorable is your little man! I miss those first months, when they fit on our thighs! Never tried quinoa either (yet). Lucky you if the weather is getting better, here it has been raining for months, and it doesnโt look like itโs going to end soon.

But quinoa is so tasty. And itโs the perfect quick fix dinner when you donโt have time for something more elaborate.
Sprinkles on ice cream is one of my favorites! But I canโt find the sprinkles that I like here in Dallas. The ones I gre up with were different colored but had some chopped up nuts in them, except they werenโt just nuts, I think they had some sort of sweet glaze on them. Loved them! Wish I could find it!
