BEB Favorites: June 2023

I’m bringing monthly favorites back!!

Here is a quick recap of everything I’ve been loving during the first full month of summer break!

Food

Ghiradelli Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Squares – A friend gifted me a sweet mug with a handful of these chocolates thrown in a few months ago, and I became hopelessly addicted. I love the combination of milk chocolate and sea salt (and, of course, the caramel)

Aldi Fresh Pizza Dough – I bought this on a whim when I saw it near the cheeses; I knew I had half a jar of Rao’s in the fridge, some pepperoni, and a half bag of shredded mozzarella cheese. One pound of the dough makes a fairly large pizza, and it was GOOD! The kids and my husband raved; a great crust. Perfect to have on hand for quick pizzas.

Double-Sided Screen Magnet – Years ago, Duke ran through our sliding screen door not once, but twice 😬 We kept it closed for the longest time to avoid it getting damaged again, and then my husband found these double-sided magnets. Since it’s a solid object on the screen, it allows dogs to recognize there is something there and not plow through the door. It has worked wonderfully!

Affresh Washing Machine Cleaner – I’ve been using this for a while and love how easy it is to throw a tab in the washing machine and know that any odor-causing residue gets deep cleaned. I use it every month!

Music & TV

I Won’t Back Down – The Goo Goo Dolls and O.A.R. did a cover of the Tom Petty classic and IT. IS. PHENOMENAL. I could listen to it over and over again.

Crowded Table – A few weeks ago, Paige had this song in one of her Instagram stories, and I was immediately taken by it; the lyrics are beautiful, and I think it probably speaks to all moms!

Joe Pickett – We’ve loved this show but somehow have run out of episodes! It looks like new ones drop on Sundays; glad we’ll have a new one to watch this week.

Kids

Yoto Mini – Each of the kids got one of these for Christmas; they play audiobooks, music, podcasts, etc. All three of my kids love listening to the “Yoto Daily” podcast – it’s full of fun trivia, learning, and jokes. And of course the audiobooks! Dominic’s favorite thing to listen to is Toy Story… Joseph’s is The Magic Treehouse series, and Isabelle’s is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We LOVE these for screen-free relax time, for rides, etc.

Build Your Own Super Cars Sticker Book – Someone had sent this to Dominic last year, and he enjoyed working on these while we were out of town; then Joseph discovered it, and HE loved it, too. They also have other themed books like trucks, robots, dinosaurs, sea creatures, etc.

Little Hands Playing Card Holder – My kids love games, though they seem to play fewer board games in the summer and instead reach for card games. These card holders have been a game changer!! Highly recommend them if any of your littles love to play cards.
