An Update + Prayer Request

So many of you have reached out over the last two weeks asking if everything is okay because I have not made any recent posts. I appreciate your concern so much.

Last week, our son Dominic was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer of the nerve cells. He has a tumor in his abdomen and we know the cancer is also in his bone marrow. He is being admitted to the hospital this week to begin treatment.
He is currently doing great, feeling well, and running around playing. Even with all of the pokes and prods and procedures he’s gone through over the last two weeks, he’s never complained and is as happy as ever. He’s totally our hero.
We appreciate all of the prayers and good, positive thoughts you can send his way 💙

Oh Michelle, my heart is breaking to read this very personal news you have shared with your followers. As a cancer survivor, I can imagine the shock you felt when you heard the diagnosis. No one wants to hear the C word especially when it involves the wee loves in our lives. Your journey has just begun. It will not be easy. There will be ups and downs. Just take each day at a time. Deal with what is in front of you. Try to keep your thoughts positive. Positive thinking does work! And allow your friends and families to help you. You cannot do it all. It is ok to ask for help.
My prayers and positive thoughts are with you and your family.

I’m a long time reader. In fact, yours is the first blog I ever read, well over a decade ago. I followed you as you got pregnant and had your three littles and actually had 3 of my own at roughly the same time. I love your recipes and the stories of your life and family! Thank you for your vulnerability here. I can’t imagine how it must feel to get such horrible news. Thoughts, prayers, and hugs as you go down this road!

I haven’t stopped thinking of Dominic since I read your post. He was born the same day my son was and i always look forward to seeing him in your posts. Praying daily for him. 🙏

Prayers for you and your family. I have read your blog faithfully since before you had children and love your recipes. When you started having children, I feel in love with you all over again and your Friday posts are my favorite. It is not easy to share your children with a world of strangers but I absolutely love it. My children are grown and your posts always triggers memories of their childhood. Lean on the love and support of your family, friends and even strangers that is sent your way. I am heart-broken for all of you and will say a prayer for you daily. Dominic’s smile reminds me of sunshine.
